"Embracing the Past, Celebrating the Future,
100 Years of Progress and Innovation"
Kansas City is known for its fountains. The first fountain in Kansas City, KS, was built in 1904. It was during this time that the construction of the plant at 1900 Kansas Avenue was well under way.
This fountain is presented to the Kansas City plant and those persons who, over the past 100 years, have made this longevity possible.
The front of the fountain displays three of the graphic design logos used to represent the Procter & Gamble Company over these 100 years, along with the current P&G text logo.
The brass plates on the lower front of the fountain are (left) a re-creation of a plaque that was presented to corporate P&G in Cincinnati from the Kansas City factor to commemorate 100 years of Procter & Gamble as a company, 1837-1937, and (right) a local artist's rendition of the Kansas City plant from 1905-2005, celebrating our 100 years.
Installed in the fountain is a "Time Capsule" containing items representing the Kansas City plant in 2005.
Opening of the Time Capsule shall be determined by future plant enrollment during a significant milestone celebration for the site.
